It’s easy to miss. Big Bend National Park is over 800,000 acres full of history and a variety to explore.
A neighboring town along a southern portion of the park has recently reopened it’s borders with the US. A town full of history and a mixed relationship offers a unique opportunity to look across the Rio Grande and via rowboat meet up with this Mexican community.

I had a unique experience to meet up with Raúl, a local guide who typically brings visitors up to the town about a quarter of a mile away with his donkey. He gave me a great tour with some history. He even introduced me to his grandfather who graciously posed for a photograph.
