Finding America: Glacier National Park Pt. 1

Glacier National Park Part 1

Deep dive. High places…

Feel like I am getting back after Covid and have found some amazing places in Glacier National Park to explore.

I’ve split this into several parts so I wouldn’t overload you with too many photos at once.

It took a while to find a base camp, but found a great spot 2 miles from the west entrance before going over to the east side.

Highline Trail

This trail had it all. Including crowds. But if you timed it, you’d have a little time to yourself. Challenging distance. Must see/do.

Starting at Logan Pass, you get a cliff hanger right off. Fun!

The trail traverses above the Going-To-The-Sun-Road. Note for future reference- Mt. Oberlin in mid foreground.

A steep side trip gets you this view of the Grinnell Glacier! I also managed to hike up to the glacier when I moved to the west side of the park.

This guy started to move towards me. I was pretty close with not much room to move back… I had no time to look at the camera settings but was happy to see this after he went by.

More on Glacier to come.

Currently in Banff National Park. Logistics have been challenging as some of you know. No cell, limited options on Wi-fi and boondocking. Hopefully Plain of Six Glaciers Trail tomorrow and then Jasper. Have to abbreviate my swing through Canada for scheduled vehicle service back in the States.
