Piegan Pass: Glaciers in a Revenant World
Mileage: 13.6 miles one way – Elevation Gain: 2,779 ft – Access: Trailhead at Many Glacier area, east side of Glacier National Park – Rating: Strenuous – Estimated Time: 6–7 hours
In many ways, this trip might be the highlight of my park visit this time. Piegan Pass offered striking glacier views amidst a landscape that felt like a revenant world—traces of ice and alpine terrain slowly fading, creating a surreal, almost otherworldly experience.
The hike combined challenging terrain with breathtaking scenery, and the sight of glaciers slowly disappearing added a haunting yet beautiful quality to the alpine landscape.
Shout out to Rob and Joanne, whom I enjoyed meeting and briefly sharing the trail with!
