Finding America: Yosemite Falls Hike

Upper Yosemite Falls Trail

Steep. Approximately 4 miles one way with 3000 feet of elevation gain. Some of the best views are from the trail on the ascent with wide angle views of the valley below. It’s worth the extra few miles to Yosemite Point for an even better view of Half Dome.

Enjoyed sharing this hike with Tom and Shannon! Shannon was prepping for her cable ascent of Half Dome. Best wishes! Tom was catching a day off from REI and headed up and left to the top of El Capitan.

Nearly drafting Shannon and leading the way.

Trail builder, John Conway, operated the trail as a toll trail until 1885 then selling it to the state.
