Finding America: The Pharoahs

Bruce LComment

Saturday with the Pharaohs

*Note: FYI: I am posting this ahead of a few trips. I needed to rest after a 3 day, 2 night backpacking trip in the Sierra’s as well as day hikes in the Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Park, not to mention a visit to an old mining ghost town. Oh and before that- the Bristlecones! I’m sitting out the busy holiday Memorial weekend and happened to get a chance to to photograph a car club get-together after catching up on doing laundry. Now Looks like fridge just went out. Curveball. #vanlife #TheAmericaProject

Pharoahs Car Club Of Visalia, CA**

Pharoahs car club was started in Modesto, CA. in 1948. We have chapters all across the United States and in several other countries. We participate is all kinds of car related activities and are a very active club.

**Pharoah vs. Pharaoh spelling- Anyone know the origin of the two names?

After my overnight at Walmart, I noticed the car show (which happens every saturday at 8am to 10am at the corner of Ben Maddox and Noble. They had a great collection and range of cars on display. Special thanks to Steve McCracken for sharing my blog link with those interested in the group.

I am not sure what attracts me to cars. the design, the color, the power, I felt the same way photographing the planes at the Pima Air and Space Museum. The people* today were great and I enjoyed chatting with them and hearing some of their personal stories and about their build process. Feel free to share your comments about your car story in the comment link. The following photos are detail shots- mostly at random with light, color and texture leading my way, as usual. *Apologies in advance if I didn’t get your car in- I wish the club well on the road!
